Masseria Pilano, the first 5 Girasoli farmhouse in southern Italy, is an ancient 17th-century Apulian farmhouse, located on a vast plain in the pre-Murgiana area, 340 metres above sea level, in the heart of the 'Terra delle Gravine' Regional Natural Park. The land, of about 235 hectares, is located in the countryside between the municipalities of Crispiano and Martina Franca, in the province of Taranto. Masseria Pilano's main activities are the production of organic extra virgin olive oil, durum wheat and the breeding of the splendid Podolica Pugliese cows and Murgesi horses. Also part of the Masseria are the Mediterranean maquis woods (turkey oak, oak, holm oak, strawberry tree, heather, broom) where wild boars, hares, porcupines, foxes, badgers, pheasants, thrushes, woodcocks and many other bird species live freely. Since spring 2007, Masseria Pilano is also an agritourism farm and offers the possibility of staying in the ancient structures, obtained from the restoration of the typical stables and 17th-century trulli, surrounding the manor house with Bed & Breakfast service. In addition, the large outdoor courtyards and the row of 17th-century Trulli are an enviable and authentic setting for Masseria weddings, events and ceremonies.
Starting from spring 2007, Masseria Pilano gives tourists the possibility of staying in Trulli flats drawn from ancient XVII century buildings all around the main house. These Trulli flats, made up of two or three rooms, have all the facilities necessary to spend a pleasant, relaxing stay on a typical Apulia farm.

We are situated halfway between the Ionian Sea and the Adriatic.
The Valle d'Itria
The Valle d'Itria is a region of central Puglia, spanning the provinces of Bari, Brindisi and Taranto. Its territory coincides with the southern part of the Murge plateau: strictly speaking, it is the karst depression that stretches between the towns of Locorotondo, Cisternino and Martina Franca. The valley's most distinctive feature is the Trulli—typical and unique cone-shaped stone dwellings.
