Immersed in the green of an extensive olive grove stands the masseria, built in the 18th and 19th centuries by Sante Conti, a wealthy landowner from whom the masseria takes its name. Like all neighbouring masserias, the Don Sante masseria was born out of the owner's need to ensure better care and administration of the surrounding plots of land, entrusting its management to families of farmers and colonists who found their living quarters in the masseria and marked out their lives according to the rhythms of the land and its cultivation. At the end of the 19th century, a small oil mill was built to produce a fine oil that not only served the needs of the farmers but was also often offered or sold to the many travellers. The fertility of the land and the salubriousness of the climate are praised in an ancient Latin inscription engraved in the wall, which testifies to the willingness of the farmers to welcome travellers who wished to stay for a few days in a place that offered them great comfort. Renovated preserving the typical characteristics of the Apulian masseria, it offers its guests comfortable rooms and lodgings complete with an equipped kitchenette. All located in an oasis of tranquillity, far from city traffic.
