The agriturismo Villa Casale Girifalco is situated in a beautiful hillside position 500 metres from the historic centre of Cortona, reachable on foot in just over 10 minutes. The property, surrounded by 5 hectares of olive grove, is an oasis of silence and peace ideal for a holiday of complete relaxation. The structure consists of a manor villa and an adjacent farmhouse and can be rented entirely on an exclusive basis or separately. The structure is entirely in stone (of ancient origins) with a constraint from the fine arts superintendency, and retains notable architectural finishes from the 16th century (1500s). The restoration completed in 2007 was scrupulously attended to in every detail by the owner and furnished with authentic 19th-century family furniture. In the 18th century (1700s) the villa was used as a coaching inn under the name "Locanda del Girifalco" where travellers could find refreshment. Both the villa and the farmhouse have direct access to the garden through large French doors (all fitted with mosquito screens) on the front side, which then extends into terraces, lawns and a garden from which the swimming pool is accessed, equipped with a saline electrolysis system and solar shower, surrounded by lawns and flowerbeds of roses, rosemary, oleanders, strawberry trees, myrtle, jasmine, weeping willow, and from here at an altitude of 500 metres the eye can range over the vast panorama of the Valdichiana, all the way to the Sienese hills that stand out on the horizon with magnificent sunsets. We have fruit trees: cherry trees, plum trees, apple trees, vines, fig trees, persimmon trees, walnut trees, chestnut trees and trees such as acacias, laurels, horse chestnuts, lime trees, oaks, holm oaks and cypresses. On our property there are various paths walkable through the olive grove, ideal for easy trekking, from which it is possible to reach Cortona passing in front of the beautiful 16th-century (1500s) church of Santa Maria Nuova by G. Vasari, which we can admire in its new splendour after careful restoration, visitable on request, reopened primarily for wedding celebrations and organ concerts. Our facility offers the following services: - welcome aperitif on Saturdays at 7.00 pm and dinner on request; - it is possible, upon reservation, to organise dinners with a cook in the villa and cooking courses; - on request, wood-fired oven for pizzas and typical Tuscan dinners with barbecue for grilling; - high-speed wireless wi-fi internet connection; - possibility of booking tennis, golf and thermal baths; - trekking route within the property; - mid-week cleaning included in the price; - laundry room; - swimming pool 4x8 - solar shower - hi-fi - dishwasher, microwave oven, electric oven and American-style coffee maker - we also provide directions and itineraries for gastronomic and wine tours in Cortona and surroundings, boat trips to the islands of Lake Trasimeno. Our company produces an excellent extra-virgin olive oil and on request we organise, especially during the winter period, tastings of new oil with bruschetta. The structure consists of a villa and an adjacent farmhouse and can be rented in its entirety or divided into two comfortable residential units, one of which can accommodate 8 people, while the other is ideal for 4 people. The property, set within an olive grove, offers numerous relaxation spaces.
