Casale Le Fornaci stands on the hills of Moriano, 6 km from Lucca. Built in the mid-seventeenth century as a kiln for terracotta bricks—from which it takes its name—it was inhabited for generations by farmers and used as an agricultural warehouse. The Martinelli family has restored it while preserving the wooden beams and stone walls, elements that still define the space today.
