Immersed in silence and in approximately 10 hectares of surrounding woodland, La Rosa Nel Bicchiere rises up dominating the surrounding valley and revealing to the eye an unusual and evocative panorama. The ancient farmhouses and the masseria, recently restored, with their solid and simple beauty, are silent guardians of a timeless history. Here nature preserves the charm of a bygone era. The presence of trees permeates every corner of the landscape, lending it that sense of mystery which is typical of mountain forests but also the reassuring brightness of Mediterranean vegetation. The ideal place for a holiday or even a day of rest unlike any other. Monte Reventino rises up before the guest's view and dominates the scene. To its right Serra Alta, to the left Monte Condrò with its splendid beech forest, one of the most beautiful in Calabria, characterized by large, silvery columnar trunks, up to 35 metres tall. The place name Reventino derives from the dialect word riventu meaning "rest" and recalls the long, tiring journey that people had to make to travel from the Plain of Sant'Eufemia to the basin of Decollatura and Soveria Mannelli and back, for reasons of commercial exchange, to escape pirate raids on the coast or during natural disasters such as floods and earthquakes. A land of rest, therefore, and a tradition of hospitality that you will find in this place. La Rosa nel Bicchiere is simple hospitality, made of smiles and small gestures, like those of the housewives of this land, who would adorn their homes, after their household chores, with a rose placed in a glass. In order not to spoil this extraordinary natural heritage, we commit ourselves every day to the protection of the environment and the territory. We have built a solar energy system that makes the structure self-sufficient from an energy standpoint, and with a rainwater harvesting system we irrigate our fields. We have managed to establish a perfect balance between innovation and tradition. Respecting traditions does not mean freezing them in a past that is often mythologized and out of date, but giving them new life by allowing their most authentic spirit to adapt to the rhythms and needs of modern man. From the past we have inherited the love for the land, for its products, the attention to and respect for the rhythms of nature; the patience of the housewives who would tend the cauldron over the fire for even an entire day. At La Rosa nel Bicchiere the products of our farm, apples, pears, cherries, chestnuts, wild berries, dairy products and various vegetables, take turns in the kitchen following the slow progression of the seasons. We are convinced that beauty, creativity, refined and light flavours are not in opposition to the rich tradition of which we are attentive custodians, and this is why we give such great importance to a cuisine that knows how to present itself new and enticing every day. Like that master of the house in the Gospel, we have learned to bring together new things and old things.
