On the first and second floors the nine guest rooms with bath are all different, vary in size and color. What they share rather is an inviting warmth, an exquisitely simple décor. The spacious, comfortable rooms - some complete with fireplace - are furnished with taste, attention to detail, deep appreciation for the original structural design. Thus archways and window-spaces frame the lovely countryside all around with a once-upon-a-time charm. Each room is equipped with a star-shaped electric installation and a current disjointer essential to the reduction of electromagnetic fields. The heat, adjustable room by room, comes from a wood-burner integrated with solar panels. Panels in granular cork, jute and clay brick ensure sound-proofing. In the dining room, stone walls and barrel vaults, tile and wood floors join with a cheerful fireplace to set the mood for savoring wonderful country fare. - - With stunning simplicity, the architectonic elements serve as the perfect backdop for a memorable culinary culture. Traditional dishes prepared with genuine, organic products; delicacies forged from long-forgotten flavors; vegetarian menus defined by seasonal ingredients. For a variety of offerings that will delight even the most exacting connoisseur. - - Available for sale are various types of ham and salami, preserves, vegetables in oil or in pickle, fruits and vegetables in season. - - Our own fresh farm products account for a full 80% of the food we serve. We raise cows, sheep, pigs and small barnyard animals. During the summer months all the fruits and vegetables on the table come from our own garden and orchard.

Surroundings (Sotto il Monte Giovanni XXIII)

Sotto Il Monte lies 350 meters on sea level, in the district of Monte Canto, 500 meters from the childhood home of Pope John XXIII. Places to visit nearby include the Cà Maitino museum and the 11th century S. Egidio in Fontanella abbey. The Casa Clelia estate, which once belonged to the famous condottiere Bartolomeo Colleoni (his coat-of-arms remains in stone on the northe gateway), is close to a woodland partially covering the property where lovely footpaths make for great hiking. Not far away there are also facilities for horse-riding and playing golf.
