Description La Cascina Del Castello

The farmhouse dates back to the tenth century and sits on the hills of San Marzanotto, surrounded by vineyards and woodlands just five minutes from Asti, twenty from Alba. The Gianotti family has protected it for generations: Fausto oversees the estate, Anna the kitchen. The rooms have been carved out from the old hayloft and feature furnishings from different eras blended together. Three types: the Triple Basic of 30 square meters, the Triple Comfort of 35, the Quadruple with garden views of 40, with a double bed and single beds. At the table arrive vegetables from the orchard and products from local suppliers, selected season by season. All around, only silence and hills.

In the kitchen is Anna Gianotti, who works with what the farm's vegetable garden produces and with suppliers from the hills around Asti. Seasonal vegetables, nothing more. The Gianotti family has managed the estate for generations, and the menu follows the same principle as always: they cook what they have, not what they wish they had. Five minutes from Asti, twenty from Alba.
