The Locanda dell'orso bevitore is located in the heart of the historic centre of Verduno, a hill in bloom according to Celtic etymology, a locality situated 380 metres above sea level, a short distance from La Morra and Alba, and part of the Barolo production area. Our agritourism is housed in a typical Langa farmhouse, with an L-shaped structure and a large courtyard, renovated with every care and restored to its former glory during 2003-2004. In addition to the rooms, where attention has been paid to every detail and which are furnished in a rustic, country-house style, with antique furniture, the farmhouse provides a large garden area with a pergola where you can read and rest in peace, a small living room that will soon house an essential library and a warm Castellamonte stove, and above all a spacious and bright breakfast room with a fireplace. Our concept of breakfast, in fact, includes a rich sweet and savoury buffet, with homemade jams and cakes, cold meats and cheeses from the Langhe, to help guests start the day in the best possible way, pampered by the delicacies we have prepared and selected. As well as advice and useful indications for itineraries among the many beautiful and good things that the Barolo lands have to offer. The Locanda dell'orso bevitore not only wants to be a truly human-scale agriturismo, where guests can feel at ease, but also intends to offer guests, at different times of the year, a series of cultural initiatives, such as book presentations and meetings with authors, debates, and wine tastings. Thanks to a real professional kitchen that we have set up, we also plan to organise themed gastronomic evenings and small cooking courses, to introduce our guests to the most typical local dishes and allow them, once they return home, to propose them to their friends. The Drinking Bear Inn comprises, on two floors, five double rooms (two of them with single beds), two suites with a living room and sofa bed, and three mini-apartments with a kitchenette. The rooms on the upper floor open onto the small balcony overlooking the courtyard, while the rooms on the ground floor open directly onto the garden. All the rooms are spacious, bright, furnished with period furniture, have a large bathroom with shower cubicle and are equipped with television with digital decoder, and are designed to offer guests great tranquillity and maximum comfort. A comfortable swimming pool is also available to cheer guests on hot summer days.
