Medau Becciu occupies an ancient agricultural residence in Sulcis, renovated in 2005, just steps away from the medieval village of Vecchia Tratalias. Six rooms and two mini-apartments. Each room features a private bathroom, TV, air conditioning and linens; the mini-apartments add a kitchenette with refrigerator, though linens are not included unless requested with an additional fee. Outside, a swimming pool. Surrounding the property, archaeological sites, vineyards and the beaches of Sulcis, in the southwestern part of Sardinia.
The kitchen works with what the farm produces: vegetables from the garden for appetizers and side dishes, pork and lamb raised on-site. For ceremonies and traditional meals, the menu starts with eight appetizers—olives, baby artichokes, cheeses, cordula with peas, frittatas, fried specialties—followed by gnocchetti alla campidanese and fregola. Among the main courses, lamb with peas or with olives and cardoons, sheep in sauce, porceddu with vegetables. Finishing touches include seasonal fruit, Sardinian sweets, coffee and digestif. Bottled beverages are charged separately.
Stays are available on a B&B or half-board basis, with rates that vary by season and discounts for children aged 3 to 9 years. Half-board is not available on Wednesdays and Sundays. Rooms are cleaned three times a week, linens changed once. The mini-apartments are available in double or quad configurations.
