Le Murelle Agriturismo is a traditional 18th-century farmhouse set in the Tuscan countryside, just 7 km from the historic center of Lucca. The estate includes a manor house, a small consecrated chapel, and four large farmhouses once inhabited by farmers’ families. Purchased in the early 1900s by the grandfather of the current owners, an engraved date in the wine cellar suggests the origins of the estate may go back two centuries earlier.
The property stretches across more than thirty hectares, from the provincial road up to the hilltop, with vineyards, olive groves, and woodland. In the 1990s, with the end of sharecropping, the farm embraced agritourism alongside agriculture. Locals from the nearby village of Cappella affectionately refer to it as “alle Murelle” or “the red houses,” in reference to its traditional red color, which has always been preserved.
We produce excellent extra virgin olive oil, delicious artisanal honey, and raise a small flock of Pomarancina sheep. One of the large farmhouses has been carefully restored for guest accommodation, offering historic rural homes equipped with modern comforts: spacious interiors, independent heating, fireplace, free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TV, window screens, and, in the two largest apartments, accessibility for disabled guests.
Outside, guests can enjoy wide green spaces, various gardens, and charming outdoor areas with garden furniture, perfect for relaxing in complete privacy. The estate also features a convenient parking area, several barbecues, a large playground for children and adults, and a masonry swimming pool with solarium surrounded by vineyards.
