The quercia rossa farmhouse is in the heart of a farm which extends over the nearby hills. Sitting on one of the highest hills in the area it is within easy reach of the nearby maremma south of grosseto, the mount argentario inland, and is only a few kilometers from the town of manciano. The thermal baths and natural cascades of saturnia, the beaches of capalbio and ansedonia and the costa d'argento, the archeological sites of the roman city cosa, the uccellina and talamone park are all nearby and the charming medieval towns of manciano, scansano, montemerano, pitigliano, capalbio, and sovana stage fairs and festivals all year round.
Every morning Quercia Rossa offers breakfast in the main hall, opened on the beautiful garden with lawns, roses and cypresses. The breakfast is 'a buffet' including milk, coffee, tea, american coffee ( on request), marmellade, butter, honey, juices, home made yogurth and jam, salame, cheese, bread, biscuits and home made cookies.
The location at the center of Maremma makes the Quercia Rossa a privileged base for a variety of activities. First of all, the closeness of the natural cascades of Saturnia (14 km) offers guests the chance to spend time relaxing with massages, and thermal cures and baths. Lovers of the sea and of diving can reach the beaches of Capalbio, Argentario and Uccellina in approximately 20 minutes by car. Nature lovers choose between birdwatching in the WWF oasis of Orbetello and the Lake of Burano or riding in the Uccellina Natural Park. Near the Farmhouse, one can take a bath in the Albegna river. The tombs of Sovana, the Roman city of Cosa and the sites of the villa of Settefinestre and Ghiaccio Forte as well as the medieval towns of Pitigliano, Sorano, Capalbio with its Garden of Tarocchi, Montemerano, Magliano, Manciano are all within 15-20 kilometers of the Quercia Rossa.
