Il Calesse has stood since 1860 on the hills of Montalbano, in Quarrata. It is a nineteenth-century stone residence surrounded by olive groves, featuring spacious rooms and two independent accommodations set within recently renovated rural buildings: Il Fienile and La Casina. Each room is equipped with TV, Wi-Fi, air conditioning and independent heating.
The property's restaurant serves traditional Tuscan dishes with a fixed menu. Vegetables, oil, wine, vinsanto and preserves come from the organic farm that manages the estate's land. Meat, cured meats and cheeses are sourced from local producers. Since 2009, the kitchen has been able to serve gluten-free dishes, certified by AIC. Guests can dine at the restaurant and enjoy house wines as well. The property organizes excursions and educational activities throughout the territory. Both guests have appreciated the attention to detail and the care taken with dietary intolerances.
