The Farmhouse "Il Castagnolino" is located at only 2 Km from San Gimignano, on the ancient way called "Via Francigena". The rural building, lovingly restored, surrounded by olive trees, offers a unique view over the Towers of San Gimignano and the Valdelsa valley. Our farm was built using environment-friendly techniques and materials: heating and hot water are provided by renewable energy, walls are painted with natural earth colors. In our farmhouse we produce extra-virgin olive oil and organic saffron from San Gimignano – Protected Destination of Origin, we grow aromatic plants and the Certaldo Onion. For our guests, a swimming pool among the olive trees, where to spend some relaxing hours enjoying the tuscan landscape. we can arrange 6 rooms in rustic Tuscan style, one wheelchair accessible, with wooden beams roof and tiled floors, with private bathroom with shower and independent entrance. Our guests can enjoy delicious sweet or savoury breakfasts in our dining room, with fresh home baked cakes and cookies, cereals, fresh fruits, yogurt, milk, tea, juices, coffee or cappuccino. We organize excursions on mountain-bike with English speaking guide to discover all natural and artistic beauties of this area. We propose a short walk along our botanic route to see wild, aromatic and healing herbs. We offer to our guests the possibility to enjoy holistic treatments to find well-being or simply to be cuddle for a bit.

The spring, the view of the hill from the windows of the rooms or from the terrace, and the house itself create a unique atmosphere, and La Cianella is told through the details, the landscapes, the places. It is possible to modulate the layout of the rooms to reserve even entire floors for groups of friends or couples, the use of the rooms can be transformed according to the needs of the guests, going from single to double, to suite or flat, thanks to the interaction between communicating rooms. Space can thus expand, contract and evolve according to requests and needs. For each room there is an independent access from the outside, but also a connecting door to the adjoining room that allows for communicability. The possibility of combining the rooms has been underlined by the use of the same materials. Particular attention has been paid to the search for materials in order to create environments of varying taste and different connotations: from traditional terracotta enriched by the colours of characteristic Spanish cement tiles to modern stoneware that picks up on the taste and colours of local stone, to the current mosaics made of marble for some wall coverings. In the same way, special care has been taken in the design and choice of bathroom components as they are considered essential to contribute to your comfort. The house has been designed to offer both sides of a holiday at Cianella, relaxation, privacy and calm, alongside fun, friends and movement. The rooms are reminiscent of different feelings: passion, family, fun, nature. All feelings expressed with different stones and colours on different floors. All the rooms can be combined two by two through an internal access door (with the exception of No. 1 with No. 2). Each room still maintains its own independent access and its own bathroom.
