Frallarenza is a small family-run agriturismo set among the rolling hills of Umbria, in the countryside north of Orvieto, surrounded by olive groves, vineyards and oak woods near the village of Ficulle. The stone farmhouse has been carefully restored and now offers just two ground-floor apartments, each with its own independent entrance and a spacious covered porch where guests can enjoy outdoor meals or relax with a book in the quiet of the countryside. The house is framed by a large natural garden with a 12x5 metre saltwater pool nestled among trees and lawns, sun loungers, a table tennis area and a brick barbecue with a big picnic table for convivial evenings. The apartments, one smaller and one very spacious, feature fully equipped kitchens, washing machine, fast Wi-Fi, air conditioning and handcrafted ceramic and textile details that reflect the owners’ love for artisan work. Frallarenza is also a working farm and craft workshop: they produce organic extra virgin olive oil and organise cooking classes, dinners on request, and courses in terracotta, ceramics and handloom weaving, so guests can fully experience country life rather than just admire it. Sustainability is a clear priority here: photovoltaic panels, solar thermal systems and heat pumps have allowed the owners to phase out gas and power the agriturismo almost entirely with renewable energy. Thanks to its strategic location on the border between Umbria, Tuscany and Lazio, close to the A1 motorway, Frallarenza is an ideal base for day trips to Orvieto, Civita di Bagnoregio, Lake Bolsena and many other historic hill towns, while still offering long, slow hours by the pool or in the garden.
