A modern winery with historic roots: this is IL RONCAL. Twenty hectares of absolute quality on the Montebello Hill, just a few steps away from Cividale del Friuli, where we have been producing high quality wines for decades. Born in 1986 from an idea of Roberto, young winemaker and third-generation viticulturist; IL RONCAL is today a model winery, where respect for the land, preservation of tradition and innovation in winemaking techniques are combined. The elegant estate hosts the winery and the resort: a delightful glance nestled within terraced vineyards in the heart of the Colli Orientali del Friuli. The winery’s name derives from this distinctive landscape: IL RONCAL is a local Friulian expression indicating an “estate on a hill cultivated in terraces” (also known as “ronchi”), that dominate the suggestive surrounding landscape.
Directly next to the wine cellar, there is an antique residence which has recentlybeen renovated and typically furnished. For the guests of Il Roncal, the agri-tourismprovides an attractive possibility to stay overnight and relax while enjoying thebeautiful landscape. Due to the respect for tradition and the affinity with nature the agri-tourism wasfurnished in the traditional friulian style. Il Roncal gives moments of relaxation and enjoyment to its guests.
