Description Al Buttasella

The 'Al Buttasella' story began in 1989 when Paolo laid the foundations on a large green area donated to him by his father Emilio: at first tall trees, hedges and fences for the horses. It was Paolo's great passion for horses, and in honour of his military riding instructor Glauco Secchi, that led to the birth of the "Al Buttasella" Equestrian Association, which takes its name from a military signal given with a trumpet to the mounted unit to carry out the saddle. In the meantime, Paolo and his father Emilio, a mason, built a rural building as a storage for agricultural tools. Later, Paolo applied to the Mortegliano municipality for a variant on agritourism activities and, once he had obtained it with the help of his father, he began to set up his new establishment. This is just the beginning: everyone in the family gives their best to start up and make the new activity successful. In March 1997, his mother Bruna, with the help of the whole family, starts the agritourism business. When Bruna decided to retire, it was Paolo and his wife Sonia who took over the reins of the business, which they still run with pride and the heart of someone who has realised a dream from nothing.

Services Farm-house

The "Al Buttasella" farm is immersed in a green atmosphere of 10,000 square meters of land with plants and tall trees and is surrounded by a hedge that makes the environment more suggestive and peaceful. At the guests' disposal there is also a comfortable swimming pool to relax during the hot summer days. Children have a real amusement park equipped with inflatables, jumping castles, minicars and many other attractions for a stay full of emotions, fun and in total safety. The garden is equipped with a large car park. We also have some equipped pitches for camper parking.

Typical Cuisine
The agriturismo features a large dining room and a veranda, interconnected, for a total of 60 seats. The rooms are furnished simply but tastefully using family furniture recovered from the attic to create a welcoming and familiar atmosphere. The delicious dishes and exquisite fare that Paolo himself prepares and offers to his guests are all based on products from his farm: poultry, pork, vegetables. White and red wines served at table come from the Colli Orientali del Friuli. FIRST COURSES

In addition to pasta prepared strictly at home (strigoli and tagliatelle) present all year round, Paolo proposes potato gnocchi with duck ragù and bread and eggplant gnocchi in summer: in the winter season barley risottos, risottos with seasonal vegetables and barley and bean minestrone are much appreciated and requested.

SECOND COURSES

Throughout the year you can taste roasted rabbit, duck, guinea fowl.

In summer Paolo recommends the spit roast based on rabbit, chicken and pork loin, and cold dishes based on duck and guinea fowl but the dishes sought after by customers at "Al Buttasella" are the winter ones based on goose such as stew with spring onions and mushrooms, braised goose with polenta, "porca loca" (deboned goose, rolled and stuffed with pork loin).

And let's not forget the classic salami with onion, frico with potatoes, "muset e brovade"....

DESSERTS

customers at "Al Buttasella" can enjoy the specialties of aunt Donatella, made fragrant and particularly tasty by her mastery and her imagination: apple strudel, pastry cream tart with pine nuts, almond puff pastry, apple, pear, fig cakes....

Breakfast

Breakfast is included in the double rooms but not in the apartment and includes fruit, bread, butter and jam and house dessert. Tea, coffee, macchiato or cappuccino will then be served of your choice.
