The famous Caseificio Sociale dei Magredi, an imposing construction in squared stones where the exceptional Vivaro was produced, the father of Montasio, has now been transformed into a welcoming agriturismo, a temple of typical local cuisine. The dining area consists of 3 rooms with a total of 70 seats, while outside guests are welcomed in a Mediterranean garden shaded by olive and fig trees. The name suggests simple and genuine cuisine based on fruit, vegetables and meat from the family farm, a characteristic for which the Michelin Guide has included the restaurant in its selections. Dishes are prepared in the state-of-the-art kitchen-laboratory following preparations from ancient Friuli recipe books, but revisited with a modern touch: low fat and careful preparation to preserve all the flavors of tradition. The formulation of the dishes favors typical Friuli products and provides, for the most part, the use of seasonal products, grown or raised directly on the family farm: no stereotyped and anonymous international dishes, but tasty cured meats, fragrant cheeses, aromatic soups, farmyard poultry, garden vegetables and genuine homemade sweets.
