The ‘Il Giardino dei Mandorli’ farmhouse is situated in the heart of the Ciociaria region, on Monte Reo hill, and serves as a link between the past and the future. It is a small late 19th-century hamlet, built on land that once formed part of the estates of the Certosa di Trisulti, as evidenced by notarial documents dating from the 17th century. In the past, these farmhouses were home to families of farmers and livestock breeders, who lived there until the early 1990s. Thanks to consolidation, restoration and conservation work, the farmhouses have been restored to their original form and style. The ‘exposed stone’ walls, along with the wooden ceilings and beams – carefully restored and polished with wax – lend the entire space a flavour of times gone by, whilst the property is surrounded by an almond grove and crowned by a cypress forest. The traditional charm blends seamlessly with the simple yet refined modernity of the furnishings and colour scheme. The six spacious rooms exemplify a warm blend of rural and modern styles. The ancient red pine and oak beams and the exposed stone walls merge harmoniously with the bold colours of the walls and the underfloor-heated resin floors. The cosy, welcoming atmosphere, the natural surroundings and the tranquillity will make your stay unique and memorable. In the morning, you’ll be woken by birdsong, and if you’re an early riser, you can enjoy a marvellous sunrise that will set the tone for your day. You can enjoy our swimming pool, go for long walks along the nearby dirt tracks, go mountain biking, pick wild asparagus (March, April and May), take part in the olive harvest (November and December) and learn how to grow vegetables. You can learn to make lots of tasty recipes, including homemade pasta, jams and plenty of delicious desserts. There’s always plenty to do on a farm!
