Discover the restaurant

The dining room of Castello di Vicchiomaggio overlooks the Greve Valley, with vineyards and olive groves descending from the same hillside where the castle has stood for centuries, including its thirteenth-century tower. In the kitchen, the focus is on Tuscan tradition: ancient recipes, revisited by the chefs with a touch more creative freedom than the originals. The wine comes from the estate's own cellar. Chianti Classico produced here, under the guidance of John Matta and his family, alongside the labels from Villa Vallemaggiore, the Maremma estate owned by the same proprietors. It's not a pairing constructed at the drawing board: it's the logic of those who bottle what grows just steps away from the dining room. You dine within a stately residence, its walls dating back to the Middle Ages, while outside the Chianti landscape remains visible from every window. History and agricultural production both find their way onto your plate, and into your glass.
