Le Macchie Alte Organic Farm is an organic agricultural business that has always been so. Our agriturismo welcomes our guests in a simple and genuine way, hoping you appreciate the contact with nature and with a true rural reality, made of sustainable agriculture, sacrifices but also many satisfactions. Added value are our organic products, which we produce with commitment and passion and with great attention devoted to respect for the environment and sustainability.
Le Macchie Alte is an organic estate of 420ha in which we grow olives, cereals and forage, and we breed maremman cattle, boar and cinta senese pigs. By the shadow of a great oak tree you will find a delightful swimming pool when you can relax and take a refreshing dip. Our 12 rooms are in three stone farmhouse; they have all been restored with the greatest respect for the traditional architecture of rural maremma. Out of choice, there is no televisionhere; instead we have a beautiful room with fireplace in which you 'll find a range of table games to play with your friends or those you 'll meet here. You 'll have dinner in the veranda and our cooks have a lifetime experience in preparing traditional maremman recipies as acquacotta, homemade spaghetti with agliata (garlic) sauce, wild boar stew. Le Macchie Alte is also a wildlife reserve where you can choose between two nature itineraries: one of 6 km and the other one of 9. Along your way you can meet hares, pheasants, squirrels, buzzards and sometimes aven wild boar. We are Ecolebel-certified as we believe that the conservation and the protection of the environment are of absolute importance. Baths of Saturnia are t km far and twenty minutes away by car are the archaeological sites of Sovana, Sorando and Pitigliano. When you come to Le Macchie Alte you 'll find that getting away from it all is not very far away.
The rooms are furnished in typical rustic Tuscan style. Our agriturismo is an organic farm and as such, for us the contact with the nature surrounding us and respect for it comes first and foremost. For this reason we do not have television or air conditioning systems. We believe our guests need to relax and switch off from the routine by immersing themselves in the nature that surrounds the farmstead, in the heart of Maremma Toscana.

The countryside surrounding our farm stays steeped in history and archaeological sites, and we're blessed with proximity to one of Italy's most beautiful natural treasures: the Saturnia Thermal Baths and the Mulino Waterfall. The ancient villages of Manciano, Montemerano, Sovana, Pitigliano and Sorano are truly enchanting to explore – charming towns where echoes of myth and tradition still resonate. The Argentario coast is easily within reach, where you can spend time in one of its stunning coves with crystal-clear waters, or visit Porto Ercole or Porto Santo Stefano, the perfect launching points for day trips to the nearby Island of Giglio. Also worth your time are the numerous necropolises scattered throughout the area, the Etruscan sunken roads known as Vie Cave, and the distinctive Tarot Garden, where you can admire the remarkable sculptures created by Niki de Saint Phalle.
