San Ottaviano has been in the Neri family for 4 generations. Originally bought as a working farm much larger than the current 250+ hectares, it has been progressively evolving over the years. Francesco has been running the farm for the past 13 years, a job now shared with his wife, Hilary. The couple is constantly evolving and expanding their piece of historical paradise to adapt to new markets, while at the same time maintaining the agricultural aspect of their work. The farm is now organic.
A small paradise nestled in the green hills of the Tuscan Maremma, San Ottaviano is the ideal place for those who wish to experience the authenticity of Tuscany, surrounded by nature, history, and genuine flavors. From here, guests can take short day trips to reach the stunning beaches of Follonica, Baratti, and San Vincenzo, explore medieval towns like Suvereto, Bolgheri, and Volterra, or visit local wineries for unique tasting experiences. The surrounding area also offers natural parks, thermal spas, and archaeological sites, perfect for enriching your stay with cultural and wellness activities. Within the estate, guests can ride horses through the Tuscan landscapes, relax in the two swimming pools, visit our craft brewery to discover the brewing process, and taste our artisanal beer. You can also spend time with the farm animals and enjoy a delicious meal at our farm-to-table restaurant, where the authentic flavors of the region are enhanced by fresh, locally sourced ingredients. For outdoor enthusiasts, San Ottaviano offers kilometers of mapped and marked trails, perfect for hiking, biking, or horseback riding, starting directly from the farm. With a history spanning over four centuries, the San Ottaviano estate provides an authentic and immersive experience, allowing guests to savor the true soul of Maremma in a setting of rare beauty.
San Ottaviano is composed 2 rooms and 24 apartments from studios for two up to large apartments sleepimng a maximum of 8 people. In the higher part of the farm, there is the historic farm of San Ottaviano, which houses the restaurant, reception, agricultural craft brewery and some apartments. The other apartments are found 300 meters lower in the valley in a quiet meadow next to the olive grove. All of the apartments at Podere I Massoni overlook the pool area. Each apartment has been renovated keeping in mind the old structure and rural style. Each unit has its own entrance and a veranda with table and chairs for eating or relaxing in the fresh open air.

Two panoramic pools, 17m x 8m each (one at San Ottaviano and one at Podere I Massoni) are equipped with lounge chairs and umbrellas and look out over the valley. There are several barbecue grills around the agriturismo. Receptions, meetings and weddings can be organized in our meeting room, or in the gardens. Breakast is served every morning from 8 to 10.30 in the restaurant. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner (reservation). We often organize special events, like homemade pizza or BBQ night. San Ottaviano is also home to our craft brewery, Birrificio de'Neri, where we produces agricultural craft beer. Visits and beer tasting are organized for guests. Pets are welcome.
San Ottaviano is surrounded by 400 hectares of fields and forests, a true paradise for outdoor sports lovers: the walking, riding and biking trails are almost infinite! The closest village is Suvereto (10 km), a wonderful little medieval village with many restaurants and shops. Massa Marittima, with its famous "old town" is about 15 km; Ferries to Elba depart from the port of Piombino, only 30 km, and the famous Bolgheri is about 40 minutes away. Volterra, Siena, Pisa and Florence are also easily reached in about 1 - 1.5 hours. The Mediterranean coast, with the beautiful and beautiful beaches of San Vincenzo, the gulf of Baratti and Follonica is about 30 km by car.
