Immersed in the countryside, in the middle of the woods, the old stone cottage offers splendid apartments which have maintained the architectural features and atmosphere of old times, perfectly integrated with all the mode comforts.The "Le Coste" holiday farmhouse is situated in the heart of Tuscany, on a hill with splendid views. Already open for business in the 1500 as a restaurant for travelers of the time, still today it maintains many of its traditional features. The building, in addition, has recently been extended with a large swimming pool and terrace with a view. The area offers many possibilities to satisfy your cultural and naturalistic interests. Its position, in fact, allows you to enjoy the tranquility of the countryside, yet is at a short distance from the major cities of artistic interest in Tuscany.The history of this typical farmhouse goes back to the 16th century, when it is was used as a refreshment point for walkers and pilgrims. Today it’s part of a farm estate producing wine, olive oil and fruit (for sale), and with its restoration it has been divided into five simply furnished apartments (with satellite TV and phone). The spacious grounds are very well-kept and offer several spaces with gazebos and tables for al fresco dining. On one terrace, with panoramic views over the surroundings, there’s the swimming pool (15/5-30/9).The position between Siena and Arezzo, at ca. 3 km from the medieval villageSerre di Rapolano (basic shops), makes it ideal for day trips to Siena (30 km) andFlorence (90 km), but also to charming landscapes such as the Chianti andCrete hills, and characteristic villages, for example Chiusi or Cortona, both with Etruscan museum.At Rapolano Terme one can use the thermal spas (5 km). In the immediate surroundings it is possible to follow partly marked paths on foot or mountain bike through unspoiled nature.
