Agriturismo Grotta dell'Eremita is an ancient hamlet dating back to the 14th century. It offers traditional Basilicata cuisine and a quiet location, 5 km from Castelmezzano. The agritourism farm is located 500-600 metres above sea level and spreads over 23 hectares of land, part of which is used for mixed grazing of meadows and beech and chestnut woods, where animals live in the wild, and part for growing olives and cereals; within the extension of the agritourism farm, there is an ancient village dating back to the 17th century.Slightly higher up, on the rocky ridge, there is a 9th-10th century cave inhabited by Basilian monks (hermits), hence the name of the farm. The facility has 20 rooms, all spacious and bright, and looking out of the window you can admire beautiful landscapes. They boast a rustic design and feature free Wi-Fi, LCD TVs and free tea and coffee. After a pleasant night's sleep, you can enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the refreshment bar, with freshly milked milk, daily ricotta cheese, farm honey, homemade cakes and many other farm specialities. At lunch and dinner, the chef serves the best of local specialities produced only on the farm, from ravioli to various fresh pasta specialities, meat, wine, etc.
