In Vaglio Basilicata, at 954 meters above sea level, the agritourism farm raises sheep and goats fed with cereals and forages grown on the property. From here come ricotta and cheeses, crafted using the traditional techniques of ancient Lucanian shepherds. The kitchen also prepares Terra Antica pasta, made with Lucanian durum wheat cultivated on-site, and the house's artisanal sausage. There are guest rooms and a swimming pool.
The village is home to just over two thousand inhabitants and is full of Lucanian archaeological sites. From the nearby Dolomiti Lucane, the Volo dell'Angelo departs, operating from May to November. Also nearby are Parco della Grancia and Parco di Gallipoli Cognato. Matera and the Sassi are about an hour's drive away, along with Parco della Murgia Materana.
