Situated in Salento near Lecce, and just two kilometres from the Adriatic Sea, Tenuta Monacelli is a wonderful example of the history of olive-growing and oil production. The Estate boasts two splendid manor farms, Masseria Monacelli and Masseria Giampaolo, together with a huge swimming-pool; offering you a unique experience in terms of both natural beauty and architecture

Our rooms make of Tenuta Monacelli & Masseria Giampaolo one of the best agritourism facility near the city of Lecce.Solemnly elegant, as were the original manor farms of the Salento, our estate's geust rooms are available in the following layouts standard, superior, junior suite and suite to provide complete comfort for up to four people.All rooms feature an en-suite bathroom with shower or bathtub, hairdryier and courtesy beaty kit. Il Rifugio del Re": our restaurant. Richness of natural beauties responds to richness of the tastes that rural tradition handed down to us and that our chefs re-elaborate with great skill to transform every meal in a regal, unique moment to be tasted in a natural setting pointed out by a refined atmosphere.Products are cultivated biologically and come from the estate’s farm, as for the poultry, and are cooked, with the same attention to the tradition, in new forms and in new combinations. I A long list of national and international wines, preserved in the ancient underground olive-press, today a precious wine-cellar, allows to find the best match in order to exalt even more the courses. Two different restaurant rooms and outside wide yards allow to enjoy the fascination of summer nights.

The cities tell the ancient history of Salento, from the primitive times of the arrival of the Mesopotamians until the liberation in the tenth century through the theatres of the Magna Grecia, the Roman consular roads, Norman castles, Byzantine abbeys, the Baroque era of the viceroys and the art deco villas and theatres. Lecce is the capital of Salento and the Baroque era. Salento is a spur of land between two seas, posing a challenge that olive groves, grape vines, and expanses of grain conquered in the time of the Greeks and Romans, where the Mesopotamians had already chosen to shelter between the plains and hills in view of the sea. The sea is exciting here, with beaches spread on dunes below ancient towers that guarded the coast from the incursions of pirates and Saracens, and broad shining coves framed between cliffs and reefs. Endroit idyllique, séjour parfait. La piscine est merveilleuse, les chambres immenses et très bien décorées. Le parc est époustouflant. Petit déjeuner très varié et copieux. Déjeuner très agréable autour de la piscine. Accueil très chaleureux. Etape à choisir absolument
