Casa Montecucco, being carefully restored in Maremma style, is located between Castiglione della Pescaia and Roccastrada, a hidden place in the Tuscan Maremma. The view from Casa Montecucco embraces a broad horizon from the south with the Uccellina Park to the north west with the Argentario promontory, where you can spy on the valley of the Bruna river with the ancient ruins of the Castello di Pia dei Tolomei to the north, with the Metalliferous Hills in the distance. This fertile area which is rich in sulphide mines and hot thermal waters was already known to the Etruscans. Archaeologists discovered there many inhabited sites and furnaces. Populonia, Vetulonia and Roselle are mysterious and ancient sites. There is a feeling of spirituality left there by ancient rituals. Dante mentioned the Maremma and Gavorrano in his Divine Comedy during his meeting with Pia De’ Tolomei. There are seven rooms, five of those are situated on the top floor and are very comfortable. They bear the names of five contemporary painters (Cacciarini, Faraoni, Chianese, Ciarocchi, Manfredi) and have their etchings on the walls. The other two recently restored rooms are Lory and Ali suites. Casa Montecucco has only 7 rooms, all furnished in authentic style with brass gas lamps of the early XXth century adapted to electricity and with authentic glass. In Casa Montecucco you will find a 16 m x 8 m pool with a local stone pool edge that gently slopes into the water. The maximum depth is about 3 meters. There is also a large hot tub with 7 seats and 40 jets.
