The farm occupies an area of 50 hectares in the Matera countryside and produces cereals, oil and various vegetables, for the almost exclusive consumption of its guests. The durum wheat obtained is of Cappelli quality, the best for making bread and fresh pasta. Added to this is the goodness of the fine extra-virgin olive oil, fresh vegetables, beans, broad beans and chickling peas, all in line with the typical cuisine of the area, that of the past, pastoral and peasant. The agriturismo has ten rooms, sleeping a total of 18, all with bathroom, shower, TV, minibar and air conditioning. The floor is parquet. Accommodation is in single, double and triple rooms. The furnishings are simple but essential. A large hall welcomes guests for every occasion. The rediscovery of typical dishes was the first objective of Angelo Loperfido, the owner and manager of the agriturismo. As a true gourmet, after careful research, he has succeeded in making guests of his cosy establishment savour real specialities that had almost disappeared. Typical gastronomic products also form the basis of the menu at this agritourism inn. Very popular is the 'PIGNATA', which consists of selected pieces of adult sheep, cheeses and cured meats in pieces, vegetables, potatoes and spices, encased in an earthenware crock sealed with bread dough and baked in a wood-fired oven. Travelling tourists will find peace and safety here; the Agriturismo has reserved a welcoming area for motorhomes and caravans, with a chemical drainage well, electric socket, drinking water connection and continuous drainage of grey water.
