Agriturismo in Near To Capo Testa with Barbecue

In the far north of Sardinia lies the famous Valle della Luna, the last "hippy" paradise. A small valley about 500 metres long, made of huge granite boulders shaped by the wind over thousands of years. Cala Grande (or Valle della Luna) is on the western side of the Capo Testa headland, in the municipality of Santa Teresa Gallura, about four kilometres from the town. Between the rock walls you will find hidden coves with turquoise, crystal-clear water, made magical by the strong contrast with the golden colours of the rocks and the green of the thick Mediterranean scrub, with strawberry trees, myrtle and heather. Since the late 1960s, a group of hippies and naturists have made the headland their home and helped keep it unspoilt. They coined the name Valle della Luna (Valley of the Moon) for the particular white colour the rocks take on in the moonlight. A dramatic setting where peace and nature reign. The Valle della Luna is one of the symbols of the long and beautiful coastline of Santa Teresa Gallura.
Starting with Capo Testa itself, joined to the mainland by a strip of sand that forms Rena di Ponente (or Taltana) to the west and Rena di Levante to the east. A short walk from the old town of this well-known Gallura resort, you can enjoy the dazzling colours and clear water of Rena Bianca. East of the town you will find the picturesque Cala Sambuco and the wide, well-equipped La Marmorata beach. Heading towards Palau are the granite pools of the Valle dell'Erica, Porto Liscia Sciumara, home of windsurfing, and the lovely peace of Conca Verde.
